We provide support and opportunities for volunteers and volunteer organisations across Yarra.

We support volunteers and leaders of volunteers with:

• skills development
• networking, awards and events
• grants and discounted venue hire
• partnerships with other community organisations.

Our volunteer programs

Our council-led volunteer programs include a diverse cohort of volunteers who work alongside paid staff to add value in delivering our community outreach objectives. There are a variety of ways we do this, such as:

• Social support through the Home Libraries Service, Chatty Cafe and Thread Together Store
• Digital literacy through Learning Bank’s Digital Help service
• Aged and disability support through the Companion Animal Support program
• Intergenerational kindergarten programs through Seniors and Sprouts
• Maintaining small community gardens and replenishing our local Street Libraries
