Parkland to be restored to Edinburgh Gardens in upcoming works

Tuesday 09 May 2017

Following on from our Enhancing Edinburgh Gardens Consultation, a section of the northern precinct in Edinburgh Gardens will soon be returned to parkland. The demolition of International House and the carpark is scheduled to take place mid-May 2017. It is expected that the works will take approximately 2 weeks.

Plans for demolition of the building were identified in our Enhancing Edinburgh Gardens Consultation in June 2016. The area will be restored to grass after the works are complete.

Occupants of the building were relocated to the new facility at Bargoonga Nganjin (North Fitzroy Library) at the beginning of April 2017. All service users were notified of the change of location.

There will be minimal disruption while the works are being undertaken and traffic management will be in place. Both the skate park and the playground will still be accessible throughout the works.

All works will be conducted between the permitted hours Monday to Friday 7.00am – 6.00pm

If there are any questions relating to the works please contact us on 9205 5555 or [email protected]
