Born and educated in Melbourne, Herschel Landes is a local business operator with over 30 years’ experience. A long-time community advocate, Herschel’s involvement in local issues has included:

• heading-up the 'No Clearways' campaign
• advocating for improved accessible tram stops and;
• assisting in the campaign to save Ryan's Reserve.

As a former President of ‘Bridge Road Main Street Inc’, Herschel was responsible for many initiatives including participation in Melbourne Food Festival and lighting up Richmond Town Hall in honour of the 2017 Tigers premiership.

Herschel is committed to restoring the vitality of Richmond’s shopping strips, and to helping businesses severely impacted by COVID lockdowns.

Cr Landes has pledged to listen to the Yarra community, be responsive and act in the best interests of the community, while also ensuring that Council is always accountable and transparent.
