Last month, we installed three temporary, gender-neutral changerooms in readiness for the upcoming soccer season and other sporting activities.
Yarra City Council Mayor Edward Crossland says it’s he’s proud to lead a Council with such a deep commitment to inclusivity.
“At Yarra, we want everyone to feel welcome and to be able to take part in community sport.”
“That’s why we’ve installed three temporary, gender-neutral changerooms to Yambla Pavilion to meet current demand, ahead of further upgrades in the future,” he said.
“Community sport is a fantastic way to make local connections, foster friendships and maintain health and wellbeing,” he said.
“We want to make it easier for our everyone in our community to have a go and get involved,” he said.
As part of the Yambla Pavilion upgrades, Yarra City Council is also proposing:
- A new sporting pavilion
- 4 x permanent unisex change rooms
- a new kiosk
- club storage
- socialise space
- new public toilets
We're upgrading the Yambla Pavilion in Clifton Hill to provide an inclusive community sporting facility, improved amenities and better public access to Quarries Park.
