Update: You can read the adopted Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-24.

Calling on all pet owners (and non-pet owners) in Yarra! We’d love for you to have a say on our draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-24, which helps us manage dogs and cats in our city.

Your input will guide our approach to registration and desexing, how we handle stray or nuisance animals, overpopulation and education programs for locals.

What does the plan do?

We’re required by law to develop a Domestic Animal Management Plan every four years.

It provides us with an important tool to promote responsible pet ownership in Yarra, and lets pet owners and residents know about their rights and responsibilities when it comes to our four-legged friends.

Have your say

You can share your thoughts on the draft document by:

Consultation ends at 5pm on Thursday 15 July 2021.
