Exploring our vision: round two of our resident panel discussions

Friday 14 May 2021

A representative community panel of 60 locals met last Saturday for the second of four workshops, bringing Yarra even closer to its first-ever community vision.

This session saw the panellists share and discuss common values. They identified key themes that underpin their aspirations for Yarra’s future, and started drafting statements to describe the themes.

These themes and statements will form a major part of the overall vision, which will guide decision making for Yarra’s services and projects for the next 15 years – including our next four-year Council Plan.

Check out this recap listen to some of the panellists explain what Yarra and their participation in our vision means to them.

About the panel

The community panel strongly reflects Yarra’s diverse community, with people from all walks of life sharing their life experiences and views with each other.

It builds upon extensive engagement with the broader Yarra community from November 2020 to January 2021. During this stage we heard from over 1,300 residents, businesses and visitors.

Their feedback has also informed our proposed budget 2021/22, which is available for comment until Friday 21 May 2021.
