3MBS Classically Kids 2024: A musical family event at the Collingwood Children’s Farm these school holidays

Get the kids dancing alongside exciting live music performance and storytelling during the upcoming school holidays. 3MBS Melbourne 103.5FM is proud to produce Classically Kids in 2024 working alongside two dynamic musical ensembles, Inventi and Arcadia Winds.

This year’s series, presented at the Collingwood Children’s Farm, will see two new productions: The Adventures of Peer Gynt by Arcadia Winds (11:00am, Friday 5 July) and Inventi presents Symphonic Dances! by the Inventi Ensemble (11:00am, Friday 12 July).

Based on Grieg’s imaginative score, The Adventures of Peer Gynt will take children on a journey through a land full of magic and mystery, travelling across the Norwegian mountains, meeting forest spirits and mountain trolls. Similarly, Inventi presents Symphonic Dances! will use music by Sergei Rachmaninov, as well as new music by Melbourne composer and saxophonist Cheryl Durongpisitkul, sharing vibrant melodies and toe-tapping rhythms—a spectacle of colour and sound.
