After school care
Council’s after school care is a recreational program for primary school aged children.
The program is held in a safe, stimulating environment and is supervised by qualified and experienced staff members.
Activities include cooking, art and craft, games, sport, and environmental activities. Children are encouraged to help plan activities too.
Yarra City Council operates after school care at three sites in Yarra:
- Richmond West Primary School
25 Lennox Street, Richmond
For children attending Richmond West and Trinity Catholic Primary School.
Trinity students are picked up by Council’s community bus and transported to Richmond West.

For children attending Collingwood College and St Joseph’s Primary School.
St Joseph’s students travel by Council’s ‘walking school bus’ to the program.

After School Care operates from 3pm-6pm. Permanent bookings cost $14 per day and casual bookings cost $16.50 per day. Fees can be paid weekly to the program supervisor by cheque or credit card.
Cash, cheque, credit card and EFTPOS payments can be made in person at the Richmond Town Hall and the Collingwood temporary customer service centre.
Families who have registered for the Child Care Benefit with the Family Assistance Office can pay a reduced fee. The Family Assistance Office can be contacted on 13 61 50. The line for non-English speakers is 13 12 02.
