2013 New Acquisitions
In 2013 the focus of Council’s New Acquisition program was contemporary fine art created by mid-career artists and beyond (defined as artists with five or more years of continuous professional experience). Nominating artists were required to be living or working in Yarra, or be represented by a studio or gallery based in Yarra.
For this Open Expression of Interest round, Council received 168 artwork submissions from 65 artists. The Collection Management Advisory Committee (CMAC) selected 21 works for acquisition.
The selected works will be displayed at the Richmond Town Hall:
Dates: 30 April to 27 June
Time: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Where: Level 1, Richmond Town Hall, 333 Bridge Road
The next major New Acquisition Open Expression of Interest round will occur in 2015. Guidelines for the 2015 round will be released late 2014.
