Yarra Heritage Strategy
Yarra is home to many sites, buildings, landscapes, objects and collections of heritage significance which form an integral part of our city’s identity.
Local heritage also encompasses the many natural and spiritual places of cultural significance to Yarra’s Traditional Owners, the Wurundjeri people.
The Yarra Hertitage Strategy 2015-18 is a four year plan for identifying, assessing, documenting and protecting local places, traditions and objects of significance.
It identifies ways to ensure that Yarra’s heritage is preserved for future generations.
Following extensive community consultation on the draft strategy, Council adopted the Yarra Heritage Strategy 2015-18 in December 2014.
