Richmond Secondary School Update
18 August 2016
Council has long advocated for improved educational opportunities for young people in Richmond and welcomes the Victorian Government’s $43 million commitment to build a new secondary school in the area.
This funding will allow for continued planning and delivery of the school that will cater for 650 students and is expected to open Term 1, 2018.
The Victorian Government has advised that the school will be built across two sites, with one building in Gleadell Street (next to Citizens Park) and another in nearby Highett Street (at the corner of Griffiths Street).
The main school administration buildings will be on Highett Street site and the gym and sports precinct will be on the Gleadell Street site.
