Paying for parking is about to get easier
12 January 2017
The PayStay app for your smartphone is the new and improved way to pay for parking in Yarra.
Use PayStay to pay only for the time you spend in the parking bay – no more paying for a full hour if you leave after 20 minutes. Just remember to log off when you leave.
PayStay is also used in the neighbouring Melbourne City Council, so you won’t have to switch between apps as you move between the two areas.
PayStay will be active for the first wave of bays from Monday 16 January and it will be rolled out Yarra-wide in the coming weeks.
It’s important to note that Council is no longer supporting the ‘Pay by Phone’ app and cannot accept payment via this method.
However Yarra parking meters will continue to accept coin payment for the foreseeable future.
Paid parking bays are designed to help ensure a fair and regular turnover of parking spaces.
You can set up an account today by registering at www.paystay.com.au or by downloading the free app for Apple or Android devices.
