2017 Inspirational Women of Yarra Award

21 December 2016

Nominations are open for the 2017 Inspirational Women of Yarra Award which celebrates and acknowledges the unique and important contribution women make to our community.

It is open to women or groups of women who live, work or study in the City of Yarra and who have made a significant contribution to the community through paid or unpaid work, volunteering, or simply being inspirational.

Nominations close at 5pm on Monday 6 February 2017 and the award will be announced at Council’s International Women’s Day celebration on Wednesday 8 March 2017 at the Richmond Town Hall.

Eligibility

This award is open to all women in Yarra who live, work or study in Yarra and who have made a significant contribution to the community.

Selection Criteria

Council is keen to recognise the significant work of women who make up over 50 per cent of our community, and who make an incredible contribution either through paid or unpaid work, volunteering or simply by being inspirational in the way they live their lives.

You are encouraged to nominate an individual or a group of women who provide inspiration, support or care to others – but without receiving the recognition you believe they deserve.

Selection Process

Nominations will be reviewed by a selection panel, comprising representatives from Council and other community organisations.

The panel will assess the applications and make a decision, with the public announcement made at the Yarra Council International Women’s Day celebration on Wednesday 8 March 2017 at Richmond Town Hall.
