Revitalising Darling Gardens – works about to begin

27 April 2017

Following consultation with local residents and park users, a large section of Darling Gardens will soon be restored to green open space.

Occupants of the old maternal and child health building in Darling Gardens were relocated to our brand new at Bargoonga Nganjin facility at the beginning of April 2017.

As a result, we are able to proceed with demolition of the old building, which will be replaced with open grassland.

Demolition is expected to begin in early May 2017 and it will take about 2 weeks to complete.

Access from the Hoddle Street/ South Terrace corner will be interrupted during works. Traffic management will be conducted onsite during the demolition.

The BBQ will be out of service until a new power meter is installed in another location for rewiring and reconnecting.

These works are consistent with the Darling Gardens Master Plan, and are in addition to our plans to revitalise the Darling Gardens playground.
