Oxford Street Park - Collingwood
Oxford Street Park opened in August 2013 after Council converted a section of Oxford Street between Langridge and Derby streets in Collingwood.
What was once an asphalt-covered intersection is now a 500 square metre park with a central timber deck area with custom seats surrounded by lawn and garden beds.
The space is also well-lit, with in-ground feature lighting as well as overhead lighting.
Constructed over six months, the road to park conversion cost Council $750,000, with the funding coming from open space developer contributions collected in the Collingwood precinct.
The Oxford Street Park is the second public space to be created in Collingwood in two years.
