The Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre is a place of harmony and diversity where individuals and groups can build knowledge, strength and resilience through learning and community participation.

The centre provides nationally recognised training, pre-accredited training, community development activities, general interest classes, computer courses and access, and the provision of space for community groups.

The Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre offers a variety of activities and services. These include:

  • English language classes at four levels
  • Adult Migrant English Program and Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program classes
  • Computer classes
  • General education classes
  • Pilates class
  • Singing groups
  • Weekly community lunch
  • Horn of Africa women's groups
  • Creative writing class and writers' workshop
  • Painting and drawing class
  • Meditation groups
  • Multicultural morning teas
  • Elderly persons morning teas
  • Australian fiction book club
  • Volunteering opportunities.

The centre also has space available for local community groups to hire.
