Meeting Procedures
Council has a local law which provides for the proper conduct of Council's democratic functions.
At its meeting on 20 December 2011, Council formally adopted the
Meeting Procedures Local Law No 1 of 2011 (202.00kB)
This local law regulates:
- the election of the Mayor and the appointment of Councillors to internal and external bodies
- proceedings of Ordinary and Special Council meetings
- proceedings of meetings of Special Committees
- the use of Council's common seal.
This local law will not come into effect until a public notice is placed in the Government Gazette in January 2012.
The new law replaces a previous local law for meeting procedures which had been in place since 2002.
