Chief Executive Officer
Ivan Gilbert is Yarra City Council's Acting Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Gilbert has worked at Yarra for seven years and is usually Council’s Executive Manager – Governance.
He is serving as Yarra's acting CEO following the resignation of Dr Andi Diamond. Dr Diamond left Yarra Council in April 2012 to become Chief Executive of Monash City Council.
In May 2012, Yarra Council announced that it had appointed Vijaya Vaidyanath as its new CEO. Here is a media release about Ms Vaidyanath's appointment.
Yarra's CEO is responsible for the implementation of Council policies, providing strategic advice to the Council, and the day-to-day management of operations.
The CEO leads an Executive Management team including four Directors and three Executive Managers, and about 850 Council officers.
