Class descriptions

Richmond Spin bikesRead the class descriptions below as classes are graded from a beginner's level through to advanced. If you are relatively fit but lack a little co-ordination programs such as Body Attack and Body Step are suitable. Always arrive early to classes giving you time to set up your equipment such as steps and chat to the instructor. They can give you valuable workout tips!

Patrons are not permitted to enter the class after the warm up has been completed. (5 minutes after the start)
What do I wear? Wear comfortable clothing and runners. Drink bottle and workout towels are recommended.

  • Be sure to advise your instructor if you have any existing injuries/ conditions or are pregnant before the class.
  • No bags are to be brought into the studios.
  • For your safety please ensure you attend both the warm up and cool down phases of the class.
  • It is a non negotiable requirement that any equipment used during the class is not packed up until the end of the class.
  • Refusal may offend so please ensure you are on time for your class.
  • Attendees to group exercise sessions should be aware of and respect the Group Fitness code of conduct in all our studios.
  • Bring along a sweat towel, water bottle and comfortable clothing, shoes are compulsory, except for BODYBALANCE™, Yoga and Pilates.
  • We recommend the use of mats for Yoga, Pilates, & Body Balance - these are not provided but are available for sale at Reception.

Aeromoves: The latest fat burner aerobics class that mixes the best traditional high and low impact steps and adds a few of the latest boogie moves. Time flies as you train to easy steps, fantastic music and inspiring instructors who customise the routines to participants' fitness and skill levels.

Aqua: Group exercise set to music, but in the pool! The water creates resistance whilst eliminating any impact or stress on the body's joints.

Boxing Circuit:  Interval training session blending strength and cardio by using speedballs, punching bags, technique and pad work. Suitable for all levels.

DWR: Deep Water Running is a low impact, water- based class for those who love a challenge.

Cardiovascular fitness & weight loss. All fitness levels. Low levels of co-ordination required. Pre/Post natal.

Fitball: This class uses swiss balls to provide strength, core stability and flexibility.

Strength, tone, and stabilisation. All fitness levels. All coordination levels.

Hi Lo: Always a favourite, a high energy workout with complex choreography. Newcomers to group exercise should build up to this class.

Fitness, tone & weight loss. All fitness levels. Medium coordination required.

NewBody: An addictive mix of easy to follow cardio with challenging barbell work, excellent for those who want to work hard, get fit, stay fit or get fitter. Suitable for all.

Pilates 1: Step by step introduction to Mat Pilates. Simple exercises to build core strength, support your lower back and bring flexibility to spine, hips and shoulders. No previous experience required. Increased flexibility, core strength and stretch. Mind & Body. All fitness levels. Low co-ordination required. Pre/post natal.

Pilates 2: Dynamic Mat Pilates exercises to further challenge and enhance strength, flexibility and understanding of principles developed in Pilates 1.

Increased flexibility, core strength and stretch. Mind & Body. More advanced than Pilates 1.

Spinning: Indoor cycling where you can adjust the resistance allowing for a fantastic cardio workout. Great for all levels - Burn up to 600 calories in a 45-minute class! Fitness & weight loss. All fitness levels. Low coordination required.
Yoga: Unites the body, mind & spirit and can help align posture and increase range of movement. It increases flexibility and balance, and helps relaxation from stress. Increased flexibility, core strength and stretch. Mind & Body. All fitness levels. Low co-ordination required. Pre/post natal.

Yoga 1: General yoga classes suitable for beginners.

Yoga 2: Intermediate classes for those with some Yoga experience. Increased flexibility, core strength and stretch. Mind & Body. Intermediate class
