Group fitness classYarra Leisure offers an extensive range of group fitness classes to suit everyone, from low impact classes for beginners through to more challenging classes for experienced fitness fanatics. 

Sprung floors and air conditioning in a spacious area provide for the best aerobics work out area you can ask for!

All choreographed classes are designed to provide for a range of abilities and fitness levels with a fun workout.

Our classes include Les Mills’ Body Attack, Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Step, Body Vive and Body Balance.

NEW group fitness timetable

The next release of the group fitness timetable, effective Monday 23 April through to Sunday 15 July 2012, is now available for you to download.

In this new group fitness timetable release we have added eight new classes for your enjoyment!

Collingwood Leisure Centre
Wednesday - 7.30pm - Boxing Circuit
Saturday - 4.30pm - Aqua

Fitzroy Swimming Pool
Monday - 10.30am - Yoga 1
Wednesday - 7.30pm - Pilates 1
Sunday - 12.15pm - Yoga 1

Richmond Recreation Centre
Tuesday - 7.00pm - Yoga 1
Thursday - 6.00pm - CXWorx
Saturday - 10.45am - CXWorx

How to choose classes

Group fitness classes used to be high-impact and high-injury, emphasising fancy choreography at the expense of cardio-vascular fitness. At Yarra Leisure, our group fitness classes are less stressful and much more effective, with greater focus on all-over conditioning.

Get the workout your body needs.  Exercise time is precious.  Don't waste it.  Choose a class tailored to your needs and fitness level.

Guidelines

Help everyone have safe and enjoyable workouts. Follow these simple tips.

  • Replace equipment after use
  • Wear appropriate clothing at all times i.e. athletic shoes, no denim or street wear
  • Always carry a "sweat towel" in the group fitness studios
  • Bags are not permitted in the group fitness rooms (lockers are available).
  • Arrive 5 minutes before class
  • If participants arrive 5 minutes after the class has begun they may be refused entry. This is because the warm up has been completed and they may be more likely to injure themselves.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout and after the class.
