New Waste and Recycling Bins
If you have moved into a Yarra property which does not have a waste and/or recycling bin, please request one by contacting Council on 9205 5555.
If Council has not previously supplied bins to the address, there is likely to be a start-up cost of $62 for Council to supply your property with a 80 litre waste bin and a 120 litre recycle bin.
If your bins have been stolen or are missing, the bins will be replaced without a charge. However, you will need to complete a statutory declaration form, stating that your bin has been stolen or is missing. You can print out the forms below, or have one sent out to you by calling Council on 9205 5555.
Request for Domestic Garbage Bin (25.64 KB)
Request for Recycling Bin (19.61 KB)
The forms can be mailed to Yarra City Council, PO Box 168, Richmond VIC 3121, faxed to 8417 6666 or dropped off in person during business hours at the Richmond or Collingwood town halls.
Once your form has been received and approved, new bins will be delivered the next working day.
Public Holiday Arrangements
Collections are performed as normal on most public holidays. The only public holidays on which services are sometimes affected are Christmas Day and Good Friday. On those public holidays, collections are usually deferred until the following day.
Changing address
Waste and recycling bins belong to Council. Please leave these items for the next occupant of the property.
