Home Maintenance

Council's home maintenance service is provided to maintain your living environment in a safe and secure manner.

As a guide, the home maintenance service includes:

modifications to bathrooms and toilets
installation of ramps and rails
smoke alarm installation and battery changes
general repairs
security related gardening
minor plumbing, carpentry, or electrical tasks
minor repairs to independent living aids.

The service is limited to tasks that would usually be done by a semi-skilled tradesperson. The service is unable to provide aesthetic work such as plastering, painting, or general gardening.

Works requiring major renovations or skilled trades are usually beyond the scope of the service. In these situations, Council will provide information about the type of suitable tradespeople you need.

You will be charged for any materials purchased, and you will have to contribute to the cost of rubbish removal.
