Vacation Care
Council operates a Vacation Care program for children each school holidays.
Vacation Care is available to all children who attend primary school, including children with special needs. The program offers a range of fun activities, which are supervised by Council’s qualified and experienced Vacation Care staff.
Program details
The Vacation Care program is held at the following locations in Yarra:
- Atherton Gardens, 125 Napier Street, Fitzroy
- Collingwood College, Islington Street, Collingwood
- Richmond West Primary, 25 Lennox Street, Richmond
- Merri Creek Primary, Miller Street, North Fitzroy.
Each day of the Vacation Care Program operates from 8am – 6pm. The times specified in the table below relate to when excursions or in-house visits will occur within the day.
Bookings for the April 2012 program close at 4pm on Wednesday 28 March. Please find below information on how to book.
Some vacation care activities cost $38 per child. Excursions and in-house visits cost $44.50 per child. Families who have registered for the Child Care Benefit with the Family Assistance Office can pay a reduced fee. The Family Assistance Office can be contacted on 13 61 50. The line for non-English speakers is 13 12 02.
Please provide each child with a packed lunch and snacks to eat throughout the day. It is important that our program remains free of nut products due to children with allergies attending. Please do not provide your child with any food that includes nut products. Please send children with a water bottle and sunhat and your own sunscreen if your child is allergic to generic brands.
Places for Council’s Vacation Care Program are allocated according to Council's Priority of Access Policy.

How to book
STEP 1:
If you completed an enrolment form for Council's Vacation Care and After School Care programs in January 2012, you only need to submit a
Booking Form for April 2012 Vacation Care activities (65.33 KB)
If you did not submit an enrolment form in January 2012, please submit the
Vacation Care Enrolment Form (338.85 KB) alongside the booking form, taking care to complete all details.
If necessary, please attach the additional court order and medical documents outlined under the Document Checklist section of the enrolment form.
If you are unable to download the booking and/or enrolment form, the forms can be mailed out to you if you contact Council's Vacation Care Program on 9205 5479.
STEP 2:
Return the booking form (and the enrolment form if required) by 4pm, Wednesday 28 March. Forms can be submitted
STEP 3:
Once the completed enrolment and booking forms have been received and processed by us, we will contact you by phone or email to confirm your booking.
Please note: new bookings cannot be processed until all outstanding fees have been paid or a payment plan has been agreed to. If you require assistance in this matter please contact the Vacation Care Planner on 9205 5482.
PAYMENT
At the end of each Vacation Care program we will send you an invoice with the amount you need to pay. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, money order, credit card or EFTPOS.
• Pay by debit or credit card over the phone, on 9205 5454, 9205 5482 or 9205 5479.
• Mail your cheque or money order to: Vacation Care, Yarra City Council, PO Box 168, Richmond, 3121.
• Pay by cash or EFTPOS at Richmond Town Hall or Collingwood Town Hall.
Payment must be made within three weeks of you receiving an invoice.
