Transport assistance

Yarra Council provides a Transport service to assist residents with disabilities to live independently in their home.

Service & eligibility

This service provides door to door transport to enable people with disabilities with access to a wide range of community and social activities. Importantly, support will be available in case of an emergency. To access the Community Transport Service, you will need to be assessed as eligible by the Aged and Disability Service Planning Team.

Shopping Trips

We run regular ‘door to door’ shopping trips, where you will be collected from your home and taken to the local shopping centre. You must be able to do your own shopping, but we will help you on and off the bus, as well as loading and unloading your shopping bags or jeeps.

Timeframe

The community transport service runs from 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Costs

There is currently no cost for this service.
