Property Information
When you are selling property, you will need a Property Information Request from the Council.
A Property Information Request (relating to building work) relates to Section 32 of the Sale of Land Act 1962.

Call Yarra Building Services to give details of your requirements. Your application will be processed within 10 working days.
Council can supply copies of property plans if:
- your property is in Fairfield and a building permit was issued later than 1990
- your property is in all other areas of the City of Yarra and the building permit was issued later than 1960.
You will be required to provide identification and proof of ownership, such as a rates notice.
If you are not the owner of the property, you must produce written authorisation from the owner to obtain copies of the plans.
You can request the plans through Yarra Building Services at the Richmond Town Hall. Please bring identification.
If the building was constructed prior to 1960 the Council cannot supply plans. Your local library or historical society may be able to assist.
Timeframe
A council officer will contact your within 24 hours.
Costs
Viewing a residential or commercial property file costs:
$73.70 for residents
$123.20 for commercial
Please note that there is an additional fee for photocopies of plans
