houses-1Adjoining property owners and occupiers are often faced with building or planning issues as a result of a building development that is either being constructed or is at the planning stage.

Notification of proposal which may affect you.

This is a matter for Statutory Planning. Please refer any enquiries you may have relating to this notification to the Statutory Planning Branch at the Richmond Town Hall or by telephoning 9205 5373.

Does your neighbour have a Building Permit?

A building permit is required for the majority of building work, with some exceptions for minor work.

You can phone Yarra Building Services on 9205 5095 to check whether the proposed work will require a building permit.

Forms 3 and 4 Protection Work Notice

In some cases, proposed building works may physically impact on adjoining buildings. In such cases the process of protection of an adjoining property maybe initiated, i.e. Forms 3 and 4 Protection Works Notice.

If you have received Forms 3 and 4 Protection Works Noticeyou are advised to contact a Building Surveyor if you have any questions about the Notice.

Call Yarra Building Services on 9205 5095 who will advise you on the impact the building work will have on your property and your choice of future action.

(Building permits can also be issued by private Building Surveyors)
