Meeting rooms

Consultation meetingMeeting rooms are available at Carlton, Collingwood, Fitzroy and Richmond libraries. These premises are for hire for meetings, seminars or community events.

Charges

For three hour sessions:

  • Commercial user - $66.00
  • Community $8.80
  • Security deposit (all users) $80.00
  • Groups with Library/Council links - no charge

Carlton library

The Carlton library meeting room seats 25 - 30 people. Amenities include disabled access, toilets with disabled access and whiteboard. Access to the kitchenette and audiovisual equipment is available on request. The meeting room is available in and out of library hours. Contact the Carlton library for further details.

Collingwood library

Attached to the Collingwood library, the Collingwood community meeting room is available for use by community groups. The room seats up to 60 people. Contact the Collingwood library for further details.

Fitzroy library

Both meeting rooms at Fitzroy library have disabled access, toilets with disabled access and a whiteboard available on request. Access to the kitchen facilities is also available on request.

  • Meeting room 1 - Seats 30 people
  • Meeting room 2 - Seats 10 people

Richmond library

The Richmond  library meeting room holds up to 40 people. Ideal for small meetings, only limited seating is available. Facilities include a whiteboard, television, DVD player, video player, overheard projector and slide projector. Contact the Richmond library for further details.

Booking guidelines

  • To make a booking, contact the library location of your choice.
  • Notification is required for all cancellations.
  • For meetings held outside library opening hours, a representative of your group must visit the library prior to the meeting to collect the keys and receive information about opening and closing procedures.
  • This person must be over 18 years of age and accept responsibility for the security of the building and facilities used by the group.
  • For evening meetings, the key must be picked up on the day of the meeting during opening hours
  • For morning meetings, the key must be picked up on the day prior to the meeting during opening hours.
  • A security deposit must be paid and will be forfeited if:

   The alarm is set off.

   Any external doors are left unlocked.

   An undue amount of rubbish is left in the rooms.

   Loss of key.

  • Payment will be required for any breakage or loss of library property.
  • If using the kitchen, you must supply your own tea, towels, coffee and milk.
  • Facilities must be left in a clean and orderly state, tables and chairs must be returned to their original places.
  • Premises are designated NO SMOKING areas.
