Browns Reserve is a small reserve located in the heart of Abbotsford.
The park has recently been upgraded.
The following works were carried out in June and July 2011:
-
Introduction of new garden beds of native vegetation to the northern, eastern and southern boundaries of the park
-
Introduction of a new soft paved area towards the front of the park, where grass is difficult to establish
-
Introduction of three round concrete spheres at the front of the park entrance to break up the paved area and provide informal play elements
-
New timber deck and ramp at the playground entrance to improve access and provide seating
-
Replacement of the retaining edge around the playground with chunky timber wharf sleepers to improve durability
-
New boulder edging to sections of the playground
-
Replacement of rear metal pipe fencing with timber posts and pipe
-
Removal of tree along the Nicholson Street frontage, to allow more natural light into the park, and improve sightlines.
