Browns Reserve

Browns Reserve Nicholson Street, Abbotsford 3067
Melway ref: 2C, K10

Browns Reserve is a small reserve located in the heart of Abbotsford.

The park has recently been upgraded.

The following works were carried out in June and July 2011:

  • Introduction of new garden beds of native vegetation to the northern, eastern and southern boundaries of the park
  • Introduction of a new soft paved area towards the front of the park, where grass is difficult to establish
  • Introduction of three round concrete spheres at the front of the park entrance to break up the paved area and provide informal play elements
  • New timber deck and ramp at the playground entrance to improve access and provide seating
  • Replacement of the retaining edge around the playground with chunky timber wharf sleepers to improve durability
  • New boulder edging to sections of the playground
  • Replacement of rear metal pipe fencing with timber posts and pipe
  • Removal of tree along the Nicholson Street frontage, to allow more natural light into the park, and improve sightlines.

Here is a copy of the flyer distributed to residents near the park in March 2011.
